Edged Out Records is more than a label name. It's a life condition. We were pushed beyond the margins — culturally, professionally, politically, artistically — and insetad of breaking us it turned us into an unstoppable creative force.
We hear the world's cry for help, and answered the call:we refuse to get sanded down and washed away for the sake of comfort, trends, or gatekeepers.
Our mission is: to make & release music that resonates with people — and injects our soul into the bloodstream of this planet.
This is the full stack — past and present. We've touched every era of music production, from childhood recorders to AI-powered composition. We can still communicate and work with people who use these legacy systems, despite our fanfare for artificial intelligence. The history informs the future. Click anything to learn more.

MUSICAL FOUNDATIONS
MUSIC THEORY
Harmony, modes, chord function, key relationships, modulation, counterpoint. Functional knowledge that translates across genres and AI tools — not conservatory jargon, but the working language of why music moves people and how to make it move them on purpose.
COMPOSITION
Building songs from the idea outward. Melody construction, hook architecture, motif development, and the discipline of writing to identity — where the persona's voice determines every choice. Over 1,500 compositions and counting, each one written with intent, not accident.
ARRANGEMENT
The discipline of knowing what to leave out and when to bring it in. Intro/verse/chorus dynamics, instrumentation layering, tension-release cycles, bridge construction, and the architecture that separates a demo from a record. Every section earns its place.
RECORDING TECHNIQUES
Mic placement philosophy, signal chain logic, gain staging, room treatment awareness, and the analog-to-digital bridge. From Tascam Portastudios to modern interfaces — understanding how sound gets captured shapes how it gets made.
AUDIO ENGINEERING
Mixing, EQ, compression, spatial effects, stereo imaging, mastering fundamentals. Understanding the signal path from source to speaker — and how every decision in the chain affects the final output. The technical ear that complements the creative one.
PERFORMANCE ART
Mattske has performed live for tens of thousands of people across his career — from freestyle cyphers at Temple University that became a documentary film, to stages and venues that taught him how crowds breathe. Stage presence, audience reading, improvisation under pressure, and the knowledge that recorded music serves the performance, not the other way around.
